Running Man

Charlie Engle is at it again and is getting ready to break the world record for running across the United States the fastest. The previous record, set by Frank Giannino, is 46 days 8 hours 36 minutes. Charlie plans to run 3150 miles from San Francisco, to New York in 45 days. By my math that’s an amazing 70 miles per day! He’ll be running with his good friend Marshall Ulrich, who is also chasing the record. We wish them both the best of luck, but we’re not ashamed to admit we’re cheering for Charlie.

Last year, Charlie, Ray Zahab and Kevin Lin ran a grueling 111-mile trek across the Sahara. A documentary crew followed them along the way and the resulting film, Running the Sahara, is set for release this summer. It’s narrated by Academy Award™-winner Matt Damon, and directed by Academy Award™-winner James Moll. The film looks great, and we here at MISSION Product can’t wait to watch this journey made by these three incredible athletes.
